Accommodation

There are many possibilities of accommodation near the congress venue (Albertov 6, Prague 2). To look for suitable accommodation, you can use for example booking.com. We highly recommend booking accommodation in advance.

Currency

Czech currency is the Czech Crown – CZK / Kč with exchange rate 1 EUR = 25.87 CZK (in September 2019). It is advisable to use the ATM or exchange money in banks rather than in the street exchange offices. We advise not to exchange money at the airport and never in the streets. For current exchange rates please check the Czech National Bank www.cnb.cz. The credit cards are widely accepted in shops and restaurants, which means you almost do not need cash. Also, euros is widely accepted, but beware that in such situations the rates are usually not very convenient.

Travelling around Prague

The best option is to use the public transport. It is easy, reliable, and very affordable. Prague has one of the best public transportation systems in Europe. The city has an integrated metro, tram and bus network – tickets are valid for all types of transport (including transport at night), and for transfers between them. You can find the rates and routes here: https://www.dpp.cz/en

Tipping

In restaurants, guests usually tip around 5–10% of the bill.

Electrical Devices

If you are planning to bring electrical equipment (e.g. battery chargers, laptop power supply), please check whether you need an adapter. Electrical power is rated 230 V at 50 Hz. Most common power outlets are designed for a two-pin Europlug (plug types CE & F ).

Weather

Prague is a city with a “mild continental climate”. The average temperature in September is 21°C (it varies between 17°C and 25°C).
